A Chinese Yellow-Ground Porcelain Dragon Jar and Cover, Kangxi Mark.
The jar is of baluster form with a gently rounded body rising to a short neck, surmounted by a domed cover with a knop finial. It is decorated on a rich yellow ground with a sinuous turquoise-green dragon shown in pursuit of a flaming pearl amid stylised clouds and waves. The design continues onto the cover, creating a cohesive composition across both elements. The base bears a blue underglaze reign mark within a double circle.
H: Approximately 25.5cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished British gentleman.
