An Islamic Brass Candle Stand with Silver and Copper Inlay, 19th Century.
An Islamic brass candle stand of tapering architectural form, distinguished by intricate silver and copper inlay. The bulbous shaft is adorned with finely engraved arabesques, scrolling foliage, and alternating roundels of stylised lotus and palmette motifs. The hexalobed base panels are framed by raised lobes and bordered by inlaid calligraphic cartouches and geometric scrolls. The vertical bands and neck feature further arabesques and vegetal designs.
