A Turquoise-Glazed Ceramic Chess Piece, Possibly Fatimid 12th Century.
A small ceramic chess piece of tapering, domed form, coated in a rich turquoise glaze with lighter speckled areas. Each side is decorated with impressed geometric motifs, including crossed diagonal bands and small circular indentations near the base. The top rises to a rounded knop, characteristic of abstract Islamic chess forms.
