A Collection of Four Islamic Prayer Beads (Tasbih), Agate and Wood, One with Silver Inlay.
A collection of four Islamic prayer bead strands (tasbih), each distinct in material and appearance. One strand is composed of translucent agate beads with warm honey tones, rounded and evenly spaced, terminating in a matching elongated imameh. Two strands are formed of wooden beads in varying shades of brown, ranging from lighter honey-brown to deeper reddish-brown, with smooth, polished surfaces and natural grain visible throughout. The fourth strand features dark beads decorated with fine silver-coloured inlay rings, creating a strong contrast against the black ground and giving the strand a more graphic, segmented appearance.
L: Approximately 46 – 83cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished SW London collector.
