The central medallion features a sinuous five-clawed green dragon chasing a flaming pearl against a yellow ground, surrounded by multi-coloured ruyi-shaped clouds. The well is decorated with a wide pink-ground border containing scrolling floral motifs, finished with a turquoise-ground key-fret or meander pattern border. The underside is decorated with five iron-red bats, known as wufu, representing the five blessings. The base has a recessed centre with a turquoise-crackle glaze bearing a four-character mark in underglaze blue within a double square frame.
D: Approximately 22.1cm
Condition report:
The plate exhibits dense and uniform glaze crazing throughout the enamelled areas. There is minor rubbing and wear to the gilt on the lobed rim. No chips, cracks, or professional repairs are apparent from visual inspection.
