A circular porcelain dish ornately decorated to the interior with overglaze famille rose enamels and gilding. The central design features a large yellow-ground double-gourd (hulu) vessel embellished with lotus blooms and scrolling foliage. This motif is set against a vibrant purple ground populated by stylised multicoloured ruyi clouds and soaring bats (fu), symbols of longevity and good fortune. The composition is enclosed by a yellow-ground border featuring stylised floral scrolls and ruyi-head motifs, finished with a gilded edge at the rim. The reverse of the dish is glazed white and decorated with five iron-red bats (wufu), representing the Five Blessings. The base bears a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue arranged in three vertical columns reading Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi, which translates to Great Qing, Qianlong Period, Made.
D: Approximately 21.2cm
Condition report:
The dish appears to be in overall excellent condition. There are no visible cracks, chips, or restorations. There is very minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim and negligible wear to the gilded rim consistent with age and handled use.
