A finely carved Mughal rock crystal perfume bottle of rounded baluster form, decorated with faceted and leaf-carved panels around the body. The vessel is fitted with a carved agate stopper in the form of a bird with outstretched wings, rendered in a translucent green stone. The clear rock crystal body displays a delicate engraved design, while the contrasting emerald finial provides an elegant decorative accent. The bottle stands on a gently flared foot and retains its stopper.

H: Approximately 5.8cm

Condition report:

The rock crystal body shows natural internal veining and feather inclusions. A small, dark brownish surface stain or inclusion is visible on one face of the body. The base shows minor shelf wear. The green hardstone stopper displays minor surface abrasions and tiny nicks, particularly along the edges of the wings and the bird\'s beak, consistent with age and use. There is visible adhesive residue at the join between the bird and the stopper peg.
