A pair of Islamic ceramic chess pawns of closely related form, each with a rounded knop rising above an arched body. Both are covered in a dark glaze and moulded in relief with symmetrical scrolling foliate decoration to the front and further scrolling motifs to the reverse. The surfaces display craquelure, deposits and areas of wear and glaze loss.
