This modernist work on paper is an abstract calligraphic composition by the Pakistani artist Syed Sadequain. The piece is executed in pen and black ink with yellowish-brown tinted ink on cream-toned paper. The design features three large, stylized forms with dense internal cross-hatched detailing, set against a background of finer cross-hatching and framed by heavy horizontal bars at the top and bottom. The work is signed in the upper right corner: SADEQUAIN.

Condition report:
The paper exhibits several prominent handling creases and light undulations across the sheet. There is minor discolouration and toning consistent with age. The frame shows light surface wear and small nicks to the edges and corners.
